Hi Jack: Was reading a article about the Douglas, Long Beach Plant--The last
production. Started Reminiscing; From Days at the Old Westchester Engineering
Division, to the Pop-Up Toaster Bldg. at Hawthorne, and, finally, the Long Beach
Office, from which I retired--(1985). Airframe Section.
Just a couple of comments:
Think you remember Frank Cardone? As Ham Radio Operators, we'd make contact when
he was out sailing the Pacific.
Also thought this bit of news may be of interest to some of the other retirees.
Received Mail from Doug Sharman, He had By-Pass Surgery.
Other than that, I'm doing fine in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
Guess I got Delinquent along the line and dropped out of the Retirees Roster??
The Very Best to You and Jean

Hey, I'm writing from near Laurel, MS. (SE part of the state, have lived here 28
years). Planning to go to Albuquerque for (believe it or not) another 5-6th
grade class "Reunion." I planned our first one last April, in Newport Beach,
California (our school was in Costa Mesa, CA) & it was a real "Blast from the
Past." We found all but 19 out of 70 classmates. Our teacher turned 82 the day
before so we celebrated his birthday, as well. He made school so much fun & made
us feel special, that we begged him to teach 6th grade... so he did. I had the
pleasure of being in both classes & have kept in touch for 47 years. He & his
wife were unable to have children & treated us as they would their own. She
taught school, as well. Anyway, one of my classmates resides in Albuquerque & I
thought the "Hot Air Balloon Fiesta" plus all the other sights there & Santa Fe
would be a fun time... so we've set the date for October. I came across your
pictures while "checking it out." Lots of great photos... thanks. Enjoyed
looking at some of your others, too... appears that you're very family & friend
oriented & enjoy traveling. Wonderful! Come see us, we're 8 miles out in the
country, on 20 acres.
Best wishes & "Happy 2005,"

Found this via Google when I was looking for the FSR's new web pg. You did a
nice job with the reunion photos. Buzz has been trying to get me to take on the
"historian" job and I've been scanning pix into my computer with the idea of
having everything on a CD when we meet at the Cherry Hill (Philadelphia) reunion
next year. Maybe we can get yours on a CD and present them at our FSR reunion;
along with what I'm trying to do. (I was an ASI(O) and retired 7 yrs back.)

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Sain, Please accept a very belated thank you for your
Christmas card of last year. I'm sorry to tell you that our mother Virginia (Jinny
Ash) McNamara passed away last November shortly before the holiday season. She
had been treated for heart failure at the hospital and returned home, where she
died peacefully surrounded by her children -exactly as she had always wished it
would be. I know she enjoyed receiving your cards each year and reading about
your wonderful travel experiences. For most of the last ten years she spent each
summer at Stone Harbor in her summer house. My husband and I were fortunate to
have a wonderful baby boy in January of 2003 (also a Christopher) and he spent
many hours with his Grandmama. My three brothers were close to her as well and
lent her great strength after our father's passing. I apologize for taking so
long to write. My husband's (Mark) catering business has grown tremendously over
the past 14 months and with all other aspects this has been a demanding year.
Thank you again, best wishes, Suzanne (McNamara) Foreman

My husband and I are leaving soon for a stay in Dubrovnik and Orebic. My
husband's father, Marko Buskaveta, immigrated to the U. S. when he was three
along with his mother, Maria and older sister, Vedaslavia. We are thrilled to
have located the church in which his father was christened - Church of Gospa od
Agnela (Our Lady of the Angels) in Orebic. We have pictures of the church and
the house the family lived in. Hopefully we will be able to locate the family
dwelling which is a very large stone house overlooking the sea with a seawall in
front. The members of the family were seamen. We are hoping to find records in
the Maritime Museum and perhaps some relatives still living there. Your website
is wonderful - I really enjoyed browsing your pictures of family and Korcula. So
many faces look like my husband's relatives - such beautiful strong features.
What a lovely view you had of Korcula from where you were staying. You have
inspired me to do a web page of at least our Croatian trip for all the distant
relatives in the U. S. Thank you for sharing. Patty Fischer Hendersonville, TN
P. S. - My husband's father changed his name from Buskaveta to Fischer when he
came South with DuPont in the 30's. I would like to think one would not feel he
has to do that in 2004. What a wonderful heritage to try to cover up.

another Hotel about our Navy ship's reunion in Sept 04. Pat and I arrived in SA
about 4:30 from Austin due to going back to Austin, 3/4 of the way to SA;
because, I left my overnight bag at my daughter's house, right by the front door
so as not to miss it. There were several people from the roster that I had
worked with in certification and FS that I really regret not talking to them,
but we were already programmed to go back to Austin for activity with our
daughter and family. Congrats on your doing a beautiful job on this presentation
and guestbook. I don't know how you did it since I am illiterate on anything
other than Word and e-mail. Does it take a specific program to put together a
presentation similar to yours??? Take care and God bless. Paul & Pat Cormaci

Hello, My name is Rich Segedin, I am Gert and Fran's Grandson. I was online here
at school (Florida Atlantic University) doing an internet search on "Segedin" I
got a hit on your pictures from Hawaii. I was able to recognize Uncle George and
Uncle Larry. I forwarded your website to my Grandmother. Funny Coincidence.

I didn't realize there were so many Sains especially Pavals. What an effort to
put it all together. Wish you were here to give me a few lessons. Dorothy

Hi Jack
Great to look at your family photos. It is good to see the good times you and
your family have. It was useful to get the family tree info. I like your whole
site set up with guestbook and all.
If anyone else reading this is interested in tracing family trees that is from
Korcula please email me on whswan@ihug.co.nz. I have alot of different lines now
back to late 1700's and the odd one even further.
All the best to everyone Tania
